Pre-announcement new book project!
It is with great pleasure that I hereby announce my new photo book Flowerscapes, A Bug’s Eye View (in Dutch the subtitle is ‘Blik vanaf de bodem’)! The book will be released around 15 June, with pre-sales starting early May.
Here is an excerpt from the introduction: “What is the view of an ant looking up while walking through a field of flowers? Or of a ladybird that has just perched on a stem of a flower? How fantastic would it be if you could photograph flowers from this insect perspective! Until recently, you could only dream of this. But when a long narrow wide-angle macro lens that you can rotate 360 degrees came on the market some time ago, I suddenly saw an opportunity to make the dream a reality. It was the start of a personal journey of discovery through countless flower fields and all kinds of other places where you can encounter flowers, such as roadsides, forests, dunes and parks, mostly just in the Netherlands and sometimes just across the border in Germany or Belgium. Because of the ever-surprising perspectives, I became completely captivated by flowers and continued to marvel at their beauty and power”
