Mijn nieuwe fotoboek Flowerscapes – Blik vanaf de bodem is in de media tot nu toe heel positief ontvangen.
NRC spreekt in de weekendbijlage van 24 mei van een ‘fraai fotoboek’ en ‘feeërieke foto’s’ en ook de teksten van natuurjournaliste Kirsten Dorrestijn worden goed ontvangen: “hoewel de foto’s in principe op zichzelf staan, zorgen de teksten ervoor dat de floristische ‘hoofdpersonen’ extra tot leven komen.”
Ook mocht ik met Pleun Aarts op pad voor het radioprogramma Vroege Vogels (uitzending 1 juni). Presentator Menno Bentveld spreekt in zijn opening van het programma van “de briljante bloemenfoto’s van Theo Bosboom” en later noemt hij de beelden “waanzinnig mooi”. National Geographic heeft in het meinummer ook al uitgebreid aandacht besteed aan het project, met een fotoverhaal van 12 pagina’s. Hoofdredacteur Bram Mullink: “De bijzondere beelden van Theo Bosboom leerden mij op een andere manier te kijken naar onze wilde bloemen. Een heerlijk frisse blik!”
En er komen nog veel meer mooie publicaties aan, in binnen- en buitenland!

Nice media attention for Flowerscapes!
My new photo book Flowerscapes – A Bug’s Eye View has so far received a very positive reception in the media.
In the weekend supplement of 24 May, national newspaper NRC speaks of a ‘beautiful photo book’ and ‘fairy-like photos’ and the texts by nature journalist Kirsten Dorrestijn are also well received: ‘although the photos basically stand on their own, the texts make the floristic “protagonists” come extra to life.’
I also got to go on the road with Pleun Aarts for the Dutch national radio programme Vroege Vogels (broadcast 1 June). In his opening of the programme, presenter Menno Bentveld speaks of ‘Theo Bosboom’s brilliant flower photos’ and later calls the images ‘insanely beautiful’. The Dutch edition of National Geographic also covered the project extensively in its May issue, with a 12-page photo story. Editor-in-chief Bram Mullink said: ‘Theo Bosboom’s extraordinary images taught me to look at our wild flowers in a different way. A wonderfully fresh look!’
